HORMONES AFFECT STRESS REGULATION

A new Swedish study published in January 2026 shows that low estrogen and poor sleep affect our stress regulation. In other words, increased knowledge about these mechanisms could prevent premenopausal women from becoming exhausted and on sick leave.

PURPOSE

The aim is to help workplaces increase awareness and understanding of how premenopause can be mistaken for fatigue. A Menopause Action Plan combines HR coaching, training and policy making.

CASE

Menopause Action Plan makes workplaces more sustainable and is aimed at HR and management who want to support their employees, improve the work environment and reduce sick leave/strengthen retention in the long term through clear processes. The work on menopause issues strengthens the employer's work within both SAM and DEI.
